RNA in Fokus – DFG Research Retreat

Five members of our Leukemia Research team presented their research project at the small get-together of the research unit RU5433 in Friedrichsdorf, Hessen. Our clinician scientist Robert Winkler contributed with his work on SNHG29, while our two PhD students Lonneke Verboon and Leah Schüler provided data on their ongoing projects on the function of lncRNA loci in pediatric myeloid leukemia. Additionally, one of our Max-Eder founded junior group leaders Marit Vermunt got the chance to highlight the importance of CTCF, DNA methylation and antisense transcription in AML patients. New insights into novel RNA biology were given by Prof. Dr. Dirk Heckl presenting the work of one of his PhD students.

Thank you very much to Stefan Hüttelmaier from the Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the organization team for an interesting and fun event getting new ideas on RNA functions in disease.
