3 Mio € Research Fund promoting the search for new AML Treatments

This week was the start of a unique research funding for the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main. The association “Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder” (Help for children with cancer) is awarding about one million euros per year to our cancer research, a total of 2.7 million over three years! We are very grateful to the association and all donors.

Our research group in Frankfurt will be using the funding to further investigate the causes of acute myeloid leukemia in children using epigenetic profiling, proteogenomics, functional genomics and preclinical modeling to develop new treatment methods and innovative immunotherapeutic concepts. We are confident that our working group will “make significant progress” over the next three years.
